White tea is the least processed of all teas and comes from the Camellia Sinensis plant, specifically the tea buds and youngest tea leaves. Loose white teas can be appreciated for their light colour and natural sweetness.

The process of making loose white tea involves:

  • leaves are simply steamed and then dried
  • the tea has very little caffeine (1-2% as much caffeine as one cup of coffee)

Pollards stock loose leaf Pai Mu Tan, a white tea from China.
